Keeping the Skies "Blue" over Boone County

The Boone County Bluebird Society meets quarterly and the public is invited to attend. Meetings are usually held the first week of March, May, August and November, subject to change. Meetings are held at the Boone REMC Community Room (1207 Indianapolis Avenue, Lebanon) and sometimes other places around the county.

What we do

The Boone County Bluebird Society was organized in 1988 by local bird enthusiasts who were concerned by the endangerment of bluebirds through the loss of natural nesting sites.

Why we do it

Eastern Bluebirds suffer a severe lack of nesting sites, as nesting habitat including open lands, untreated wooden fence posts, and standing dead trees have become a thing of the past.
